There's been a debate going on this week about when and whether parents should monitor their children's online behavior. Not exactly the NSA -- but moms and dads have made similar arguments out of concerns for safety. Janell Burley-Hoffman helps us at Marketplace Tech understand how to behave with technology, and she weighs in on the subject.

The set of articles that sparked this week's debate were written by Matthew Ingram of GigaOM, who has appeared on this program before. Click here to read the first in his series.

Parents, tell us how you monitor your children online in the comment section below.

“I think the best compliment I can give is not to say how much your programs have taught me (a ton), but how much Marketplace has motivated me to go out and teach myself.” – Michael in Arlington, VA
