If you're excited for the days when we can all unlock our cars and our front doors with our phones, you're not alone. Software makers in the U.S. have been making all sorts of stuff for smart homes, and door locks are part of it. Of course, smart homes are vulnerable to hacks. Also, modern technology is actually challenging some of the old ways to lock up too. Megan Neal is a reporter for Vice Magazine's tech section Motherboard, and she tells Marketplace Tech about hacking both analogue and digital locks.

“I think the best compliment I can give is not to say how much your programs have taught me (a ton), but how much Marketplace has motivated me to go out and teach myself.” – Michael in Arlington, VA
