Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto is proposing amending the nation’s constitution to allow private companies to more easily drill for oil and gas. Cheaper gas prices and lower energy costs could be a few of the benefits for the U.S. (Marketplace)

The percentage of U.S. commercial air travel that would be controlled by just four airlines if American Airlines were to merge with US Airways, according to claims by the Justice Department in a federal antitrust lawsuit seeking to block the proposed merger. Executives with both airlines say the massive scale of the merged airline — which would be the largest in the world — would offer customers better services, but regulators argue it will hurt competition and drive up fares.
