Finding the motivation to work harder

Do you go to work and immediately start counting down the hours till you can go home? Till you can retire? Motivational speaker Eric Chester has some ideas on how to get excited about working.

“A lot of people look at work as a four-letter word,” Chester said. “They want to do anything in the world to avoid work, because for them work is just something that enables them to get stuff. And as long as work is viewed in that context, then it becomes something you try to avoid.”

Chester says workers need to instill passion into a job, rather than expecting a job to come with excitement. He says workers need to remind themselves about what drew them to their job in the first place to re-stoke their motivation. Take a listen to the interview above to learn more tips on how to make the daily grind more fulfilling.
