Twitter to be “official narrator” of the Olympics

John Moe Jul 23, 2012

Everything in the world needs to be the official something of the Olympics. I remember years ago looking at a box of Pop Tarts and seeing that they were “The Official Toaster Pastry of the Olympics”. Somehow I doubted that Olympic athletes were wolfing down a ton of Pop Tarts.
Twitter will reportedly team up with NBC to be the Official Narrator of the upcoming games in London.
The Wall Street Journal reports that a deal will be announced as soon as today whereby Twitter employees will corral Olympic-related tweets from athletes, their families and fans, and NBC personalities into a single curated destination site where you can read commentary on what’s going on.
No money changing hands here, just everyone promoting each other. I’ll be watching to see how prominent the modern rhythmic gymnasts are featured.
