Facebook pointing users to anti-virus software

Let’s be clear, Facebook is fine with you sharing every last detail of your life with your friends, your friends’ friends, and the general public. The company, however, still wants your computer to be safe and virus-free, because if your computer breaks, how are you going to get on Facebook? To that end, Facebook is now pointing users to anti-virus software to clean up the computers and chase the baddies away.

From CNET:

Facebook already notifies users when the site detects a possible malware infection on an individual machine, and provides these users free antivirus software to clean up the infection. The social network has now opened up its anti-malware campaign to all users in order to them them proactively protect themselves.

Now if I could just download something to block people I haven’t seen since 8th grade from wanting to play Zynga games with me, I’ll be all set.
