Amazon streaming comes to Xbox 360

John Moe May 30, 2012

Hooray! Finally there are new ways to waste our lives away watching television! At last! U-S-A! U-S-A! Amazon’s streaming content of 17,000 movies and TV shows can now be viewed over the Xbox Live Gold network on an Xbox 360.

Ain’t cheap, mind you. It’s part of Amazon Prime, the service that costs $79 a year and also includes second-day shipping and a bunch of other perks. The whole video thing is basically designed to get you to buy more retail items. And Xbox Live Gold will set you back $65 a year as well.

It’s a little weird that it took the companies this long to iron this out, actually, given that they’ve shared tons of executive and are both in the Seattle area. Xbox already offers Netflix and Hulu Plus. You need never leave your house again! Progress!
