And this final note: word from Hollywood, Fla., that the college football bowl championship series, or BCS, may be on its way out.

The “P” word — as in playoff — is now being uttered by commissioners of the various conferences. Just what, or who, will decide which teams get into a playoff? That’s still under intense debate.

But word is, the BCS will be no longer exist after the 2014 season. Booya.
