Draw Something gets social

John Moe Apr 19, 2012

I don’t play Draw Something and I’m beginning to feel like one of the last remaining non-zombies in the TV show The Walking Dead. I’m holed up in a farmhouse, I’m casting a wary eye on the horizon.

Now, all the zombies will be able to send their guttural moans back and forth to one another via a new set of social features that have been added to the game. Zynga, which just bought the game’s maker OMGPOP a few weeks ago, has added the ability to communicate with attached comments that you can also send through email, Facebook or Twitter. You can also pull down to refresh images or undo mistakes.

We’ve talked about this before but Zynga really lives a high wire act when it comes to games. It depends on games that become enormous cultural phenomena. Those games, however, tend to be fashion-oriented and fade in number of users over time (UNLIKE ZOMBIES) so something new needs to take their place.
