Codebreaker

.anything and .everything will have to wait

Good news for all you extremely-wealthy procrastinators out there.  The deadline to apply for top-level domains (the words/letters that come after the dot in web adresses) has been extended. Whew!  Between that and tax-season, people must have been feeling overwhelmed by paperwork.  The new deadline to shell out $185,000 for a vanity web address is April 20th.  All Things D reports there was a “glitch” in the system–that caused ICANN to extend the deadline. AdAge reports the new domains are likely to go live next year, and there could be hundreds or thousand of them.  Seems to me that web bookmarks are about to become a lot more important.
