Those are the specs for Barnes and Noble’s new Nook. The company unveiled the e-reader yesterday and will make it available next month. Barnes & Noble claim that the device won’t throw off as much light as tablets, like the iPad, and that you’ll no longer need an external light to clip on, if you want to read in bed. The drawback: none of that easy on the eyes e-ink.
Although the new Nook is the first of the glowing class of e-readers, Amazon is reportedly working on the same thing. From Reuters: “Fighting deep-pocketed Amazon has proved to be an expensive proposition for Barnes & Noble, as it has poured hundreds of millions into developing the Nook.”
If nothing else, new Nook announcements are always fun to say. Try it: New Nook Book! New Nook Book!
