Volt production resumes, demand up?

John Moe Apr 9, 2012

For a while there, it looked like no one was getting a charge out of the Chevy Volt (GET IT?! BECAUSE ELECTRICITY!) as production was halted due to supply far outpacing demand. The Volt is, of course, a much more eco-friendly transportation option but it’s also crazy expensive, coming in at over $40,000 for a compact car, although there is a $7500 tax rebate. Now, the projected 5-week halt in production has been reduced to four weeks as GM says demand is increasing.
