Apple issues another patch against Flashback

John Moe Apr 6, 2012

On today’s show, we told you about the nasty Trojan program that’s wiping the smirk off Mac users’ faces when it comes to malware, the smirk that comes from the confidence that while PCs might get slammed by bad guys and viruses, Macs were safe. Over 600,000 machines worldwide had been infected at last count, the majority of those in the United States. Apple had already issued one security patch for the problem. Overnight, Apple issued ANOTHER patch. This suggests that perhaps there was something less than perfect about the first one. It may also suggest that perhaps this whole problem is somewhat less than completely under control. As for the Apple user smirk, it may never be fully repaired.
