New robot dog uses your iPhone for a face

John Moe Mar 26, 2012

What could make your dog more perfect? If he had an iPhone for a face! Wait, what? Never mind, I have to keep typing! It’s called Smartpet and it’s made by Bandai, the company behind the line-between-organism-and-machine-blurring Tamagotchi of years ago.

From The Verge:

Controlled via a free app, Smartpet will react to your touchscreen gestures with over 100 facial expressions, and you can make itdo tricks by voice commands or movements in front of the Facetime camera. As the pet gets more emotionally attached to you it’ll learn more reactions, and it can also sing and dance with other dogs via Bluetooth.

It also functions as an alarm clock if you really want it to. Then when you need your phone, all you have to do is RIP YOUR DOG’S FACE OFF. See? Easy! WHAT?!
