Windows 8 – The Ocho! – coming in October?

Marc Sanchez Mar 21, 2012

People started downloading a beta version of Microsoft’s new operating system, Windows 8, last month, but the company has been mum on when the final product will actually be released. Bloomberg is now reporting that the rollout will happen “around October,” which is cutting it pretty close if it wants to make sure and have a hot, new operating system in time for the holidays (Yes, I just called Windows “hot.”). Microsoft desperately needs Windows 8 to make a splash, especially in the mobile market, where it’s been seen to have been a little late to the party. El Ocho will be the first Windows OS to be specifically optimized for tablets, something that you, and more importantly, your company has been waiting for.
