A couple weeks ago, we told you about how Facebook has been in a pickle for a while when it comes to mobile because any app the company makes for, say, a smartphone will lose money for Facebok overall. That’s because the screens are too small to carry ads, so you’re just giving it away (and collecting valuable portfolios of data, of course). Well guess what’s coming to Facebook mobile apps: ads! Facebook holds a big marketing event today and it’s all about a new ad model for the company. Translated to why you should care: it’s all about the new ways Facebook is going to show you advertisements. Besides mobile ads, Facebooks wants ads to be more social, more interactive, with areas to comment and Like and do a bunch of other stuff that makes an ad look more like a status update from one of your friends if your friend is, like, a bottle of Pepsi.
