Final Note

White House chief of staff William Daley steps down

Kai Ryssdal Jan 9, 2012

This final note. There’s a job opening in Washington for a good numbers person, should you happen to know one.

The president’s chief of staff Bill Daley stepped down today. He actually said he wants to spend more time with his family. No surprise — Washington-watchers have known it was coming for a while.

Daley’s going to be replaced by Jack Lew, which gets us to the job opening: Lew’s leaving his post as director of the Office of Management and Budget to move up the White House organizational chart.
