According to the National Restaurant Association, the percentage of Americans who are going to dine out for Thanksgiving instead of eating at home. It was 11 percent last year and it’s expected to be just 6 percent this year.

To a report out today on which students hit the books the hardest in college. The National Survey of Student Engagement says engineering majors study the most about 20 hours per week. They’re followed by Science majors, then those in the arts and humanities. And then education. Bottom of the list? Business majors.

Neiman Marcus has been dazzling wish listers for more than a hundred years with its annual Christmas catalog. But this year, you’re gonna have to pay to see that book of dreams. The luxury retailer is charging $15 bucks to get a copy of it. Refundable of course if you buy something from inside the book. Like, say, a speed boat, handcrafted right here in the U-S complete with gold accoutrements that goes for $250,000.  But you better hurry… there are only 10 available.

Stocks are a little more than a percent lower across Europe. Where the big news this morning is that Spain had to pay record borrowing costs at a bond auction.

Fewer Americans sought new unemployment benefits last week, according to the Labor Department. First time claims dropped to a 7-month low.

Groundbreaking on new homes fell slightly — 0.3 percent — in October.
