U.S. Leads the World in GDP, Not in "Human Development"

When it comes to the sheer size of the economy — as measured by the Gross Domestic Product — the United States leads the world. But GDP may not be the best way to answer the question of how we’re really doing. Today the United Nations Development Programme releases a new measure that shows the U.S. is *not *number one.
