Final Note

President Obama’s jobs bill in trouble

Kai Ryssdal Oct 3, 2011

This final note on the way out, yet another piece of evidence in my developing theory that the economy we’ve got today is the one we’ll have on Election Day.

President Obama’s big jobs bill fell apart in Congress this morning. The number two Republican in the House — Rep. Eric Cantor — said the House won’t take up the whole bill, just pieces of it.

And just to provide equal time here, Reuters quotes a top Democratic aide as saying, ‘yeah, nobody is all that excited about it.’

As it happens, as of today: 400 days ’til Election Day.
