Heinz and Wendy’s re-think ketchup and hamburgers

Kai Ryssdal Sep 19, 2011

This final note today, an observation about ketchup, hamburgers and the slow pace of change.

First of all, ketchup. The Wall Street Journal had a big story this morning about Heinz and its new easy-to-use single-serve ketchup package that the company spent three years developing.

And Wendy’s, we learned today courtesy of the Associated Press, spent two-and-a-half years coming up with their new Dave’s Hot `N Juicy hamburger.

Which brings me to this: Whatever happened to just a plain old burger and fries?
