We may soon be able to keep our shoes on at the airport

This final note on the way out today, just to put things into some kind of Sept. 11th perspective.

This morning, the secretary of homeland security, Janet Napolitano, said she can foresee a day when we’ll be able to keep our shoes on going through airport security. She said better technology should help with that.

Didn’t say what the technology would be. Also said we shouldn’t look to be rid of those three-ounce bottles of liquid anytime soon.
