iPhone is coming to Sprint

John Moe Aug 24, 2011

Although to careful memo readers, this shouldn’t come as a surprise given yesterday’s news about the iPhone 5 being built to run on all networks. Open up the floodgates, here come the iPhones. The Wall Street Journal ran this yesterday saying that Sprint will have El Cinco at launch and will also begin carrying the iPhone 4 as well. Could be kind of a good news / bad news situation for Team Yellow (new nickname for Sprint) (like it?) (I’m not so sure): on the one hand they get to sell the phenomenally popular phone that everyone wants and will want more when it’s sleeker and cool looking in the new design, on the other hand a wider availability of iPhones may strengthen the argument of AT&T to acquire T-Mobile which could really bury Big Yellow.
