A lot of people own cell phones, claims Pew in shocking report

John Moe Aug 15, 2011

83% of Americans own some kind of cell phone.

“Half of all adult cell owners (51%) had used their phone at least once to get information they needed right away. One quarter (27%) said that they experienced a situation in the previous month in which they had trouble doing something because they did not have their phone at hand.”

I know! Right?! Can you believe it?!*

Not only that but MORE YOUNG PEOPLE own cell phones than THE GENERAL POPULATION!

“94% of young adults (those between the ages of 18 and 29) own cell phones. They and the 35% of Americans who own smartphones are especially likely to use their phones to quickly access needed information and to use their phones for entertainment, but also more likely than average to express frustration with slow download speeds and to have trouble accomplishing tasks when their phones are not at hand.”
