The economy is only growing at a disappointing rate of 1.3 percent a year. We heard about how Memphis — a city that has been struggling with unemployment and housing — is trying to deal with the economic circumstances. As debt ceiling debates go on, we looked at what will probably get cut either way. Commentator Liaquat Ahamad talked about why it might not be so bad to be a number two economy in the world. The country that could overtake us at the number one spot — China — is getting money from its billionaires for the country’s first private nature reserve.
