Last week it was a musical soccer ball, and now gloves. Musician Imogen Heap showed off her specially made musical gloves at the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh, Scotland yesterday. If she wears the gloves on stage, she can control different aspects of the music and instruments with hand gestures. By stretching her arms wide, for example, she can raise the volume. Scientists at the University of West England worked with the artist to come up with the design, which is based on similar technology used in gloves for gaming.
A roadhouse bar 40 years from now. The band goes into a low breakdown so the singer can introduce everyone. “Please welcome, Mr. Bobby Jones on guitar! Animal Fred McKinley on drums! The Doctor, Jimmy Lloyd on bass! Floyd Thompson on musical gloves! And Dave Willis on that weird glowing soccer ball thingy!”
