Spotify is coming to America

John Moe Jul 7, 2011

That’s a headline we could have written a year ago, possibly with a question mark at the end of it. The new wrinkle now is that the web music service, phenomenally popular in Europe, is publicly saying it’s going to land stateside. When? Ha! No idea. But! The Spotify website is taking reservations (aka building up an email list for potential marketing on their own or to sell) for when it debuts. Spotify lets you search for music by song title, artist, album, record label, genre or playlist and stream it through PC, Mac, iOS, Android and more. It’s free and also has a pay model where you don’t have ads. By all accounts its way better than, say, Pandora. When will it get here? Dunno. Maybe right around when the metric system is widely adopted.
