It’s Facebook "something awesome" day

John Moe Jul 6, 2011

Today’s the day Facebook announces what has only officially been described as “something awesome”. Therefore, among the possibilities: the ’75 Pittsburgh Steelers defense, fresh strawberries in season, the George Clooney movie Out Of Sight, or video messaging. Most of the smart money is on that last one. We’ve been hearing about a possible partnership between Facebook and Skype for a while now, seemingly a strong possibility now that Skype is owned by Microsoft (Facebook and Microsoft are totes BFFs). The big announcement could also be a Facebook iPad app or a photo sharing app for phones. But given the art on the invitation, I think it’s likely the video chat. Or possibly the strawberries. Because fresh strawberries right now are awesome.

The event starts at noon central, 10am pacific.

I bet it’s strawberries.
