Major Netflix expansion

John Moe Jul 5, 2011

The company has announced that its streaming service will move into Mexico plus 42 countries in Central and South America later this year. Prior to this, the service was only available in the United States and Canada. The whole red envelope thing, the actual DVDs that come in the mail, that’s only available in the U.S. and that’s how it will stay. Netflix would much rather pump everything through the internet than pay for postage on envelopes and hassle with actual discs. The service will be available in English, Spanish, and Portugese.

In a related story, Netflix yanked Dexter off the streaming just as I was getting hooked. Jerks.
