The protests in Greece over austerity measures became violent today. Kai spoke with Marketplace’s John Dimsdale about the U.S.’s own budget problems. The Consumer Price Index went up 3.6 percent in the last year. Commentator Robert Reich said it’s time to stop cutting public spending and increase consumer demand. Pandora went public, and is doing quite well. Rising food and gas prices in China are making millions of Chinese unhappy. And for the last part of our series on the drug wars in Mexico, we heard about how illegal drug use in the U.S. plays a factor in drug trafficking. Here are the songs we played:
- Before He Cheats – Carrie UnderwoodBuy
- Heart of Glass – Apollo BrownBuy
- Instrumental Vision – CrocodileBuy
