MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers are in trouble — owner Frank McCourt may not have enough money to make payroll at the end of the month. The Bank of Mexico has been buying a lot of gold recently. Here in the U.S., the slow hiring in the private sector is a sign of continued economic weakness. Commentator Robert Reich gave his take on why the economy is still lagging.

The House voted for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to be overseen by a committee instead of one person. Tess spoke with Marketplace’s China correspondent Rob Schmitz about the rising prices there.
