Betting the odds on the royal wedding

Kai Ryssdal Apr 25, 2011

This final note today, which if I have anything to say about it, will be the first and last we hear on this broadcast about that wedding they’re having over in England at the end of the week.

England being England there’s no shortage of ways to bet on the nuptials. The bookmaker William Hill is offering odds on everything from Prince Harry forgetting the ring — 26 to 1 — to Elton John singing at the reception — 12 to 1 there.

Here’s my favorite. 8 to 1 that Prince Phillip, the groom’s 89-year-old grand-dad, will take a little nap during the service.
