T-Mobile’s new plan offers talk, text, data, and throttling

John Moe Apr 13, 2011

Yeah, this one’s kind of sneaky. T-Mobile, the Ringo of wireless carriers, is offering a new plan for $60 a month that gives you all the calling minutes you can handle, unlimited texts, and no cap on data usage. Sounds great! Except that if you go over 2gb a month (really not hard to do these days), your data will be throttled and pushed to a lower speed for the duration of that billing cycle. Also, that rate only applies to non-subsidized phones. If you want to get one at a decent price, it’s $79.99 with that same throttling.
