Free iPad 2 for every kindergartener

John Moe Apr 11, 2011

If you happen to be driving through Auburn, Maine in early September, roll down the window and listen closely. You’ll hear the sound of something dropping and cracking, followed by a 5-year-old’s voice saying, “Whoopsie”. The voice belongs to one of the kindergarteners given an iPad 2 this fall by the school district there. Superintendent Tom Morrill says the iPad is more important than a book (aaaand he just lost the booksellers’ vote). He got a deal from Apple where each iPad 2 cost $475.
