Mad Men coming to Netflix

And at a price that can buy a lot of fedoras and Chesterfield cigarettes. Netflix will reportedly pay around $100 million, or about a million per episode, for the rights to stream those shows to their audience. Netflix also recently inked a deal with Miramax and will soon be showing a ton of that studio’s indie/mainstream movies. AND they’re reportedly in negotiations with the new Comcast-owned NBC Universal. It’s starting to sound like a rosier picture of Netflix than we’ve been hearing lately as a lot of studios felt they were being ripped off. Then again, if Netflix is writing bigger checks, will this mean higher rates for you and me or are they hoping to get a bigger critical mass of subscribers. Regardless: I get to watch Pete Campbell get humiliated more so yay.
