Real Racing 2 is a game for iPad that Apple often uses in demos to show how boss and awesome the iPad can be for games. It’s a racing game where you hold the tablet like a steering wheel. Firemint, the company that makes it, says that in the next update, soon to arrive, you’ll be able to plug your iPad directly into an HDTV and get full 1080p resolution. So the game will look as good as anything on a console and you’ll play it on your TV in full screen mode (no black bars) and it will cost a fraction of what a console game costs. This could be the missing link between casual games and hardcore games. And if you’re hooking up your pad to your TV for games, the leap to entertainment like movies and TV shows seems pretty imminent, doesn’t it?
