TWITTER: Watching the tsunami from the 17th floor in Waikiki

Matt Berger Mar 11, 2011

Marketplace reporter Adriene Hill and producer Angela Kim were in Hawaii this week reporting on a future story for the sustainability beat when they were interrupted by a much bigger story: Japan’s earthquake and the subsequent tsunami heading their way.

The timing of their trip put them in a beach-front seat for Hawaii’s tsunami warning and subsequent touch down. Perched safely on the 17th floor of a Waikiki hotel, the two covered the story on the Marketplace Morning Report this morning and on Twitter. Hours ago, they boarded their scheduled flight back to Los Angeles.

We captured a few of their Tweets in a screenshot, but you should read the complete sequence of events at @Angelaishere.
