RoboCop congratulates Detroit, makes fun of Mayor Bing

John Moe Mar 1, 2011

More in the ongoing saga of the RoboCop statue in Detroit. Peter Weller, who played RoboCop , is in a video that celebrates the new RoboCop statue, funded by the Internet (really, people who gave money on KickStarter), and he chides Mayor Bing for calling this project silly. He says “the people of Detroit and RoboCop” still have lots of challenges before them – battles to fight – like unemployment, the withering away of the country’s manufacturing base, big business. But, the RoboCop statue is the start of a new movement to rebuild Detroit.
