Netflix rates the ISPs

John Moe Jan 28, 2011

Netflix has come out with an eye straining chart measuring all the different internet service providers in terms of how well they deliver streaming Netflix content. The big winner is Charter, followed closely by Comcast and Cox. What do these three companies have in common besides the letter C? They’re all cable TV companies who also deliver internet service. At the bottom of the list is another C: Clearwire. ZDNet looks at the rankings here and says they’re a bit misleading. Charter is rated as the worst ISP by Consumer Reports and has had lots of complaints. And Clearwire may be better than it appears when you factor in that it’s a wireless service that is robust enough to stream Netflix at all and keep up with the other companies.
