Flights are getting more and more crowded, which means more fliers getting bumped from overbooked flights. To help with this, Delta’s started a silent auction program, allowing customers to name their price for agreeing to get booked on a different flight. Also in airline industry news, there’s word that Google is trying to buy out an airline data firm to include airline prices in their search queries. But the government is investigating into the deal, and Steve Henn reported that such investigations may be costing Google big business. Kai spoke to New York Magazine’s Jhoanna Robledo about her adventure as a fitness guinea pig, trying out all the new and strange fitness trends happening in gyms. The municipal bond market is still in trouble. The government is trying to identify systemic risk, but Timothy Geithner says that you’ll only know it when you see it. Icelanders are standing firm on fishing for mackerel, even though the EU is blocking them at the ports. Kai also had the weekly wrap with Leigh Gallagher and John Carney, and we heard from the Dinner Party Download guys. Here are the songs we played:

  • The Walls Came Down – The CallBuy
  • Gotta Be Something – D-TensionBuy
  • Son of Neckbone – Beastie BoysBuy
  • Model Spy – CineramaBuy
  • Direction – Sackcloth FashionBuy
