The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn tells us what’s on his phone

John Moe Jan 14, 2011

I’ll be perfectly honest here: The Hold Steady is pretty much my favorite band in the world right now. Has been for several years. I trace it back to 2008 when I moved to Minnesota right around the time their album Stay Positive came out and I just wore out those digital files. Although the band is based in New York, lead singer Craig Finn is from Minnesota and writes about the Twin Cities a lot. And the band’s music is just incredible.

So I’ll be honest, I got a little geeked out talking to Finn. Maybe more than a little. You can probably hear it in my voice in this interview. We’ve been talking to famous people for a while now about what’s on their phone. Sometimes we call it “Celebrity App Review” but it’s not really a review, it’s just them talking about what’s on their phone that they use a lot and really like. For Craig Finn, it’s the game Words With Friends.
