Okay look, it’s just a phone and just a network but tomorrow’s expected announcement of a Verizon iPhone is going to have everybody going nuts. The event is at Lincoln Center in New York at 11am. I haven’t been able to get a lot of details on whether this will be the same iPhone 4 with a different chip or if it will have new features but we’ll all find out soon enough. One big wrinkle is the widely spread rumor that Verizon will be offering an unlimited data plan, adding insult to AT&T’s injury. AT&T offers only tiered data plans. Curiously, surveys indicate that even people who never go anywhere near the caps on their data plans prefer unlimited data plans. I guess in case they ever need to download 1000 hours of video over a data network or something.
