Maintain correct tire pressure

Matt Berger Nov 25, 2010

If everyone in the U.S. maintained correct tire pressure, total U.S. carbon emissions would be reduced by 0.3 percent.

Keeping your car tires pumped up saves a ton of gas. Appropriate tire pressure can save 1.5% of the energy cars use–upping your miles per gallon and saving you money too.

Maintaining the appropriate tire pressure is especially important for Ferrari’s Formula One car, photographed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Vladimir Rys/Getty Images.
