Myspace becomes mashup/extension of Facebook

John Moe Nov 19, 2010

The big announcement yesterday had to do with being able to log on to Myspace through Facebook Connect and port all their “like”d pages over. So if you’ve joined the fan page of Lady Gaga, Myspace will know it and help you find her music and videos on Myspace. It’s really not a bad idea in theory. Entertainment properties still use Myspace pretty regularly. I’m almost tempted to be the one voice in the wilderness saying that this will save Myspace or at least let it find utility and stability in a place much further down the food chain of social media. But I think from a fashion standpoint, it’s just a weak brand and forever dwindling.
