MID-DAY UPDATE: Ben Bernanke Visits Europe

Ben Bernanke visits Europe today to defend the Fed’s decision to pump $600 billion more into government bonds. Germany in particular was vocal in its opinion of the Fed’s move, saying it was “dumbfounded” by Fed’s investment decisions. And it looks like Portugal could go the same way as Greece and Ireland. As the U.S. starts to see more proposals to cut its own deficit, Peter Coy asks will any of them work, and what are we willing to sacrifice.

The TSA has been under fire recently regarding full-body scans and invasive pat downs, but is there an alternative for holiday travelers? Maybe more eco-friendly ways of traveling for the holidays, which tend to not be “green” anyways. Adriene Hill proposed some methods to “green” your Thanksgiving this year, without sacrificing traditions.
