Big time Googler leaves for Facebook

John Moe Nov 1, 2010

Back when the ill-fated Google Wave was launched, one of the stars of the video announcement was Wave’s developer Lars Rasmussen. He was a big deal at Google, having also developed the technology that became Google Maps. I still think Wave is a pretty amazing bit of technology but just launched at the wrong time. Anyway, he has now quit Google after being personally wooed to Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg. On the way out the door, he gave an interview to a paper in Sydney saying Google had become too big and unwieldy and he was excited about the inventiveness at Facebook.
