Big news out of Europe today. Labor unions are out in protest over government budget cuts, and the EU commission may fine countries for overspending. Back in the U.S., government officials are meeting with the board of AIG to discuss exit options as they try to extricate the taxpayer from that bailed-out company. Check our website later this week for a package we’ll have on the bailout. In Washington, Congress may put the pressure on China to up the value of its currency. And the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is taking shape. We talk with the L.A. Times’ David Lazarus about what lobbyists and activists want. Rolling right along, Amtrack released its high-speed rail plans. We have a story about an Iranian pistachio ban and lessons in marketing from the Grateful Dead. The iconic group wasn’t on today’s playlist, but here’s what we did play:

  • Gold Dust — DusterBuy
  • Electric Feel — MGMTBuy
  • Enjoy the Ride — MorcheebaBuy
  • Walk In The Sky (feat. Bajka) — BonoboBuy
  • Flying — The BeatlesBuy
