In a move that easily ranks up there with the weirdest stories about Jackson when he was alive, the estate of Michael Jackson has launched Michael Jackson Planet. It’s a free MMO (massively multiplayer online) game where players can create Jackson avatars and run around, doing…what exactly I don’t know. The virtual world has the sets of the Billie Jean, Beat It, and Thriller videos.
“We put a focus on something that will truly allow fans to immerse themselves in a Michael Jackson-like universe or music-video-like world and interact with each other and then go on adventures and do gameplay stuff and socialize,” says Josh Gordon of developer SEE Virtual Worlds.
Marketplace is on a mission.
We believe Main Street matters as much as Wall Street, economic news is made relevant and real through human stories, and a touch of humor helps enliven topics you might typically find…well, dull.
Through the signature style that only Marketplace can deliver, we’re on a mission to raise the economic intelligence of the country—but we don’t do it alone. We count on listeners and readers like you to keep this public service free and accessible to all. Will you become a partner in our mission today?
