L.A. Dodgers owners hired healer for positive vibes

Ah, superstition in baseball — the curse of the Bambino in Boston, and the curse of the Billy Goat

Los Angeles is getting in on it, too. The L.A. Times reports for 5 years, the Dodgers employed a physicist and healer to think positive thoughts about the team. From his home 3,000 miles away in New England.

Vladimir Shpunt, 71, was hired by Dodger owners Frank and Jamie McCourt to send positive energy to the team. Shpunt claims he can improve a team’s chance of winning by 10 percent or more.

The Dodgers did make it to the playoffs during his telepathic tenure. But not the World Series.

Team owners Frank and Jamie McCourt are in the throws of a nasty divorce. And each points a finger to the other as to whose idea it was.
