A conversation with Roger Lowenstein

Marketplace Staff Apr 15, 2010

On Thursday, April 15, author Roger Lowenstein joined Marketplace Money Host Tess Vigeland for a conversation about his book “The End of Wall Street.”

The interview was recorded at the Crawford Family Forum in Pasadena, Calif., and includes a question-and-answer session with the audience on the fallout of the financial crisis.

In “The End of Wall Street,” Lowenstein explores the roots of the 2008 financial collapse. He interviewed 180 people for his book, among them top government officials and Wall Street executives.

Lowenstein interweaves his analysis of the crisis with profiles of important names in the financial industry, like Jamie Dimon of JPMorgan Chase and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke. Also included is a profile of mutual fund manager Bob Rodriguez — who sounded an early warning. He offers a look forward at the legacy of the crisis and bailout.

In addition to being a best-selling author and Bloomberg columnist, he also writes for The New York Times Magazine. His previous books include “Buffet,” “When Genius Failed,” “Origins of the Crash” and “While America Aged.”
